Was mich an der Schwarz-Weiß-Darstellung der Welt fasziniert, ist der schmale Grat zum Surrealen, zur unwirklichen Realität, die bei genauem Hinsehen immer existiert. Meiner Meinung nach lässt sich diese unwirkliche Realität mit Licht und Schatten besser ausdrücken als im Rausch der Farben.

The most fascinating fact about a black-and-white representation of the world is the thin line into the Surreal, the “unreal reality” that always exists when you look closely. As I see it, this unreal reality can be better expressed with light and shadow, black and white than in the rush of colors.
